    The WBMCC Counselling generally happens in three rounds:

    • Round 1 Counselling: The first round of counselling happens generally after 4 months post the NEET exam. This round sees highest cut-off marks and ranks and the top scoring candidates gets their preferred colleges. Since the competition is tough, the seats of the top medical institutions of West Bengal like CMC Kolkata, IPGMER Kolkata, RG Kar Medical College Kolkata, CMSDH Kolkata, and NRSMCH Kolkata gets filled up quickly.
    • Round 2 Counselling: Students who didn’t get their preferred colleges in the first round or wants to upgrade their choice, needs to focus on this round. In this round, the cut-offs are slightly lower because many high-ranking students might opt out for better available options. The second round is vital for those candidates who missed the high cut-offs of the first round. 
    • Round 3 Counselling: The third round also known as the mop up round, has significantly lower cut-offs than the previous two rounds. If any seats are vacant after the first two rounds, then this round ensures that those remaining seats are filled. Candidates who did not secure a seat in the rounds 1 and 2 or were looking out for some better options, this is the final round to get admission to the medical colleges. 

     

    Application Procedure for the WBMCC Counselling:

    The entire detailed procedure to help you with the counselling process is mentioned below:

    • Step 1: The candidates must register themselves on the official website of the WBMCC via online mode. Once the registration is done, the required payment of the registration fees must be paid online.

    • Step 2: Document verification is done in the next step. The candidates who are willing to take part in the Counselling process, must have all the documents required for verification. The students must report to their respective centre to complete their document verification process.
    • Step 3: This is the main choice filling step. Candidates must select the name of their preferred colleges via the online portal.
    • Step 4: After the choice filling process is over, the final seat allotment list will be released on the official website of WBMCC. Following this, candidates will be allocated their respective colleges.
    • Step 5: The students after receiving the seat allotment result, must report to the institute at the right time and date. Candidates can be rejected from the last round of counselling process if they fail to report on the mentioned date and time for the first round of counselling.
